The rest of the story ...
When the homeowners purchased this home, it was a large, lakeside home that resembled a hunting lodge. They wanted to update it to still feel like a lake home, but to also incorporate their own personal sense of design. The master bathroom in this home was a particular challenge. It was very small and only had room to house a shower. The homeowners wanted to have a large tiled shower and freestanding tub. They also wanted a freestanding vanity that was able to hold two sinks and towels.
Rosie and team decided to combine the bathroom with a small hallway, that essentially connected the bathroom and walk-in closet, to make a much larger bathroom. In doing this, they were able to fit the shower, freestanding vanity, and bathtub. Rosie used a bookcase in between the two sink base cabinets to give the homeowners room for rolled towels. They ultimately had to relocate the door and work around the existing plumbing and windows, but ended up creating a functional bathroom that met all of the homeowners' needs and desires.
The homeowners were thrilled with the result of their remodel, with the furniture-vanity look plus two sinks. Rosie too was so happy with the choices that were made - from the tile, cabinetry, and shower - all came together to create a beautiful, spa-like master bathroom.
Comments from our judges ...
I love the design of the vanity! Functional and unique!
I like that it feels like a rustic space, but doesn't go over the top with it. Good balance of materials and textures.
